Profession Tax (Maharashtra)

There r two entities, one is Proprietorship & another is Pvt. Ltd. Co.
the proprietor is a director in co.
Employees getting salary from Proprietor business as well as from company.However only company deduct P.T. while making salary payment(co. Consider the salary from Proprietor business for slab purpose). is it correct. (as both entities are different i.e. proprietorship & Co.) Also if payment of P.T. make late is any interest we have to pay?

Regarding Short term capital loss

Hii Sir,

I have a short term capital loss ( Shares & Securities ) around some 75000/- during this year ( 2008-09) and moreover i'm a salaried person. So what are the details to be submitted for IT Department for claiming this loss and STT has been deducted for transactions ans so could u help me out in this matter

hi ,,,im filing etds return of my client,,in this quarter he has deducted the tds on professional in one case at rate of 2%,and deposited the smae,,,now while i am filing the return does it matters or not ,,and what are the remedies plz clarify this,,thanking u

interest income

i had short term deposit and got interest for that 191000 and this will part of total income so is there any deduction for this under which section.the interest for savings account are also to be included in other sources head. so any deduction for both interest are available r not.

whether side books required.

Hi
I just wanna to ask that whether study material provided by BOARD OF STUDIES is sufficient for clearing C.P.T or I have to purchase some other side books (like Tata Mc-grew hills) for it?

TDS return

If there is no libilities in a perticular quarter wether filing of e-tds return is compulsary or not

EX. if in Q3 no libilities and will Q4 libilities come so Q3 tds e- tds return is comulsary or not.

a)Does a single prop. firm for consultancy for (environmental research) qualify for registration for this act?

b)What sort of books of accounts are mandatory to be maintained under this act?

c)What are the pros. and cons for registration of such firm under this act? Ae their better alternatives and why?

d)Is it mandatory for the proprietor to have the books audited by a CA? Is their a minimum limit above which Audit Report is compulsory.

Regarding Trip Expenses

Dear Sir

The nature of the business of my company is providing astrology and remedy services. it is registered under the companies Act. We are arranding one program named as "Muruga Trip Expenses", for this we have incurred many expenses which includes travelling expenses. further we setoff this expenses against the income which received for this expenses and this expenses is not shown under the profit and loss account.


my question is whether the travelling expensesn incurred for this trip expenses is liable for Fringe Benefitr Tax (FBT).
