Banking

We are enjoying working capital limits of Rs 25 crore (fund based + non fund based) from consortium bankers. The bankers are insisting to get the rating done and telling us that it is made compulsory by RBI. So we would like to know whether really it is mandatory or the banks are insisting the rating for their own risk exposures. We have been informed that it is not compulsory by RBI but since the bankers are likely to save capital if they get their loan portfolios rated. So what are the norms and ceiling for rating

Banking

One of our clients is enjoying the working capital limits from the nationalized bank. While renewing the facitlities bank has increased margin from 20% to 25% without giving any reasons. when the customer represented to reduce it to 20% as per the original sanction, the bank refuse to do so. So whether bank can change the terms & conditions of working capital loan without giving an opportunity of being heard to the customer or can bank revise the terms arbitrarily without intimating to the customer.
Pls let us know any guideline if any is there or in such situation what customer should do if he does not want to accept the revised terms.

Professional tax

Hi,

My company's registered office is in Delhi and we don't have any other office in India. But our staff work from all over India from their respective residence. Is Professional tax applicable on staff members working in Tamilnadu, West Bengal, Karnataka, Maharashtra etc. even if we prepare & disburse salary centrally from Delhi?
