Can anyone please let me know the basic purpose of creating Sinking Fund?
How does it help in redemption of debentures?
Would it not enough to just invest some money (sinking fund investment)?why SF then?
Sinking Fund just ensures that the money does not flow out of the company in the form of dividends (pls correct me if i am wrong)
but does not ensure ceasing of outflow other than in the form of dividends,isn't it?

In short...please explain how does sinking fund work?

we have deducted tds on of 200 u/s 194 - c on 10/07/2013 still we have not paid tds suppose we paid tds on07/12/2013. pls inform interest is applicable for how many month.and if we paid tds on 08/12/2013.

I am preparing personal balance sheet of one of my client bcz he wants to take a loan from bank. He has agricultural land which he got in inheritance from his father, and his father from his grandfather. Now i want to ask on what amount, we have to show the land as his capital , for showing the good worth .
Approximate today's that land value about 6 crore.
