is it compulsory to pay bonus? Can I pay ex-gratia instead of bonus & what will be the penalty for non payment of bonus. what will if I pay incentive based bonus is there any breach of law or not? please guide me its urgent.

for a company it is compulsory to pay bonus. min 8.33% of basic every year under bonus act. it can be increased 20% depend on profit.
I don't think ex-gratia will cover this. you will need to pay bonus.
