Belated Return in which income is skipped

Hi all,
Request a resolution for the below query:
A friend of mine sold a property in fy 2013-14 receiving arnd 40L (white). He filed a belated return for that year but without reporting the said transaction. As computed there was a capital loss which was arising on the above. So how can this transaction be reported now since ROI was filed belated.
