Bank account in itr

29 July 2016 If a person does not have bank account, can he not file ITR. Because, if number of accounts is mentioned as zero then, site does not let ITR to be filed.

Please suggest what to do if a person who has refund due, but does not have any bank account.

29 July 2016 ask for the special permission from the CIT of your jurisdiction.....(In a very very remote case, such permission is given...)
Just out of curiosity and nothing personal and if you dont mind........ can you please share the instance of this assessee as to why s/he is NOT having a bank account....

29 July 2016 hi, this is actually a very interesting case wherein my client has accounts only with some credit cooperative societies..He doesnot have any saving bank account because his salary is in form of cash.
So now what I am thinking is that I make him joint holder with his wife and then ask for refund in that account.

Please advise, would it be fine?

29 July 2016 absolutely fine...no issues at all.. You can add his name to existing account.
