18 October 2010 A company has 4 directors and 2 of them claim that they do not have the Balance Sheet for 2 years. They approach the auditor for the Balance Sheet of those two years.

Does the auditor have a right to refuse to give these balance sheets?

18 October 2010 No he should not refuse rather express his inability.

Actually he is not the right person to supply BS to the directors n he should clearly convey this to directors.

Directors can claim BS from other directors or from the company. In this situation auditor can simply fold his hands & express his inability.
