02 January 2014 Sir, I have queries regarding form 109.
In form 109,while writing leaves......
exam days are counted or not?,
exam leaves are counted or not?.
In the space of "TIME SPENT IN WEEKS" how the calculation is done?
Credit of hours spent more than office hours can be set-off against leaves?

02 January 2014 the leaves dont include the period from the date of first exam to the date of last exam including holidays between exams.

leave for preparation for exams till the start of exams are counted as leave.

for number of weeks, compute as normally it is done one year is 52 weeks and one or two days (depending on leap year)

yes extra hours work can be set off against leave.

02 January 2014 In this case from the day u went on leave till you return will be counted as days of leave while you fill up form 109.

02 January 2014 I Have faced this problem during my articleship and when i contacted icai regional branch mumbai they asked to take leave period from day i went to leave for study till last date of exam...as told to me icai concerned official at mumbai regional chapter, colaba.

02 January 2014 well thats the wrong computation. ICAI regulations itself provide for counting exam days and the intervening holidays as work days.

And no need to argue with ICAI on this. Just deduct the exam days and intervening holidays from the leave period and mention the remaining days as leave.
