I am having a little confusion on applying pan.
Which is when applying pan the filling the name of the applicant in the first column the first part is surname and the second part is the first name and the last part is the last name
But when the pan card is issued the fifth letter of the pan no content the a letter .
The confusion is
What is the fifth latter stand for : The name of the applicant or the father name or surname of the applicant .
If the name of the applicant is the right answer where should I fill the name of the applicant whether in the first name or the surname because mostly the 5th latter in the pan printed based on the name given in the surname.
