Please let me know whether central excise duty was applicable for unbranded gold(22ct)/silver coins and jewellery for Fy 2010-11 & 2011-12. Unbranded means brand name was not embossed or indelibly marked on the jewellery it self.

Excise duty was applicable on branded jewellery.
