Hello,
I am entering into an agreement with a service provider, I have made an advance payment prior to the date of the agreement. Can I acknowledge or mention that previous advance payment in the agreement??

Yes, You can very well mention the same in the recital of the said agreement.

So basically, I will acknowledge the fact that, advance payment has been made prior to the date of agreement and the service provider agrees and confirms the receipt of such payment.

and such earlier payment will be equally covered and protected under the agreement as the other consideration...right??

yes. absolutely right....e.g.
whereas the amount of Rs.xxxxx has been paid on xx/xx/xxxx as per the request of party of xx part (Service provider) and
whereas the party of xx part (service provider) acknowledges the receipt of the same and
whereas no separate money receipt is required to be issued and
whereas both the parties thought it prudent to reduce the terms in writing...
now therefore this agreement witnessth as follows.....
whereas the amount of Rs.xxxxx has been paid on xx/xx/xxxx as per the request of party of xx part (Service provider) and
whereas the party of xx part (service provider) acknowledges the receipt of the same and
whereas no separate money receipt is required to be issued and
whereas both the parties thought it prudent to reduce the terms in writing...
now therefore this agreement witnessth as follows.....
