Add new service category

26 February 2016 Dear Sir,

i would like to add an addl. service category to the my existing service tax list.

I wanted to know whether I can access the access the ACES website and add new service by using complete amend registration tab without further documentation submission with CBEC dept.

26 February 2016 While the amendment to ST - 1 can be done online, as per CBEC (Service Tax Wing) Order No. 01 / 2015 - Service Tax dated 28 - 02 - 2015, hard copy of the application along with specified required documents should be submitted to the jurisdictional AC / DC within seven days of e-filing of ST - 1. Therefore in your case a hard copy of the amended ST - 1 (other documents are not needed) along with a covering letter highlighting the reason for amendment should be submitted to the jurisdictional AC / DC within 7 days. Otherwise the Department has the right to cancel the amended ST - 2 on a mere technical default.
