Resp Sir,
Have a question about the in short term accomodation..suppose hav stayed two days in a normal hotel & they raised the bill 5000/-including service tax,but they not specifyed in bill charges as per below:
Net-4600/-
St-400/-
Total-5000/-
Let me know what is rate of accomodation & should i pay if they are not registered in st dept.

5% of bill amount excluding food and beverages. They cannot collect tax if they are unregistered under service tax.

Sir,
1.As per ur reply if they are unregistered then why should i pay service tax ?
2.If mention in bill in the place of st i.e "applied for",but not getting ST no.then let me know can i pay service tax?
please suggest my two questions also.

If they are unregistered you can challenge. But if they have initiated registration, it is bonafide and you can pay tax . Service tax registration is online and it takes only one day to complete the process.
