About HRA Deduction ?

Dear Sirs/
If I am a salaried Employee and Living a Place of office where I have Sifted not near to home so far.
If I paid Rent without getting HRA from Company. Should I take this as Deduction of HRA or not ? and How much ? Pls guide me Sec wise.
If Its liable to get deduction what I need to put Rent Receipt with ITR or not ?
