If you do, pls find the solution below :
The defined issue happens because of the Java version. When you update Java it gets updated to Java 8 ( Your system might have done this automatically ). However, the latest RPU 4.4 is not compatible with Java 8.
So, for RPU 4.4 to function normally, you have to downgrade Java 8 on your system to Java 7
Java 7 is not available for download directly BUT only with account login ro Oracle Java website. That shouldn't be a problem as you can simply create an account ( no payment required ), proceed to download Java 7. After downloading Java 7 and before installing it on your system, be sure to remove the Java versions installed on your system by using java uninstaller tool which you can get to following this link. https://www.java.com/en/download/uninstalltool.jsp
Link to download Java 7 https://www.oracle.com/in/java/technologies/downloads/archive/
see Java SE downloads > Java SE 7
After removing the existing Java version and installing Java 7, restart your system and then try FPU 4.4. Things should be fine.

Thank you for a solution to the issue. But it requires to downgrade Java on the system, which may create problem in running of certain apps which require latest Java 8 version. So, an alternative to the same is downloading bcprov-jdk18on-173b04.jar from https://downloads.bouncycastle.org/betas/ ..... by which same upgraded java 8 remains on the system, thus no harm in application of other apps also. But, thanks again for the update.
That would have been my first suggestion as some one had previously mentioned this solution on the forum.
However, bcprov-jdk18on-173b04.jar is not available for download in the link you had provided.
Java 8 installation is very easy as you know, Update to Java 8 once TDS quarterly filing is done. I am sure, Dept wud correct this issue shortly in the utility.
