Can ITR 4 be used for reporting LTCG - FY24-25

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether individuals can use the ITR 4 form for the financial year 2024-25 when reporting Long Term Capital Gains (LTCG) under Section 112A, provided the gains are below £1.25 Lakhs. The consensus is that ITR 4 is indeed suitable for this purpose, even with other income sources like presumptive business income, FD/savings interest, and minor's income.

26 June 2025 Have the following a income. Need clarification whether ITR 4 can be used this year filing (FY24-25)

1. Business income - using Presumptive Taxation.
2. interest on FD/Saving.
3. LTCG approx. 70k (less than 1.25Lacs)
4. Minor pension amount of approx. Rs 6000/ P/A and dividend of Rs 200 (this year).

Last year had used ITR 3. This year I understand ITR4 has this facility to report LTCG if its less than 1.25 Lacs per annum.

Kindly confirm whether ITR 4 can be used this year (FY 24-25) for above transactions.

26 June 2025 Yes, ITR 4 can be filed if the LTCG is u/s. 112A IT act (means exempt)

28 June 2025 Thanks for clarification
