Hi,
One of my friends filed his return two years back. he never filed his return before and even after. now demand has been raised under 143 . he claimed around 20000/- under Ch VI A. now he does not have any proof for it, He got the 143 very long back , he never responded,
So what will be the action of dept now ?
Any Risk for him?
He says he closed down his business and almost retiring and never he will file his return in future

HE NEED NOT TO DO ALL THIS. HE SHOULD DO HIS BUSINESS WITHOUT ANY FEAR. ITS A MATTER OF BELOW RS.3000/-, AS THE DEPARTMENT WILL REQUIRE ONLY TAX AMOUNT IF THERE BE ANY. THEY WILL NOT HARASS ANY WAY FOR SUCH A SMALL AMT. .

HE CAN GET RECEIPT OR OTHER PROOF FROM THE OFFICE OF INVESTMENT COMPANY'S OFFICE, IN CASE HE HAD MADE PMT BY CHQ, BANK PASS BOOK CAN ALSO BE PRODUCED.
