Wrong itr-urgent

03 October 2013 I have filed a Nil ITR within the due date. However, it was filed in ITR4 instead of ITR2 (there is only house property income and income from other sources).
Kindly suggest if there would be any adverse consequences and is it required to file a revised return?

03 October 2013 there is no impact on filling ITR-4 instead of filling ITR-2. so no adverse consequence since ITR-4 cover all the incomes of assesse

ITR 4 includes all incomes...

However, in next return you can correct it by making in ITR 2..

03 October 2013 Even there is no problem, ITR selection may differ from year to year based on the income status of the assesse. ITR-4 will cover all the income of an assesse. ITR-2 is has some restriction on some incomes. so filed ITR-4 will not give any problem to you

04 October 2013 Follow a simple rule. As long as there is no income escaping taxation, form of return is not relevant to tax authorities.

04 March 2014 I meant ITR 4 is more comprehensive than ITR 2 and ITR 4 includes all details as in ITR 2...so it would not be a problem.
