Without form 16/ salary slip how to file itr 1

25 March 2014 Hi Sir,

My wife is a teacher in private school and getting salary Rs. 8000/- per month. But school in not giving her any form 16 / no salary slips. Salary is credited in bank. Please let me know how to file her return and also she is having some tution income where to show this income.

25 March 2014 well I am not sure if she can file ITR1 if there is income in nature of business/profession ie tuition income.

the appropriate ITR should be ITR4.

with regards to form 16, you should be able to file the return without having access salary details through monthly salary slips or offer letter.

But can she show tution income under other income head. And also please let me know is there any need of mentioning employer details along with itr 1

25 March 2014 no...for any residual income to be parked in "other incomes" first you need to ensure that it doesn't fall in other heads. given that it should fall in "business/profession", it should not be included in other incomes. anyways, ITR1 include only interest income in "other incomes"

25 March 2014 that depends on how much income is there...you need to maintain books provided 44AA is satisfied.
