Can anyone tell me whether to charge VAT on free samples???

Normally, where there is no consideration, that can't be treated as Sales, so if that is not sale,question of sales tax doesnt arise. however, if ITC has been availed, in case of FOC trf that must be reversed. for the same you must refer state VAT act.
