07 July 2014 I withdrew money from NSS-87 on 15.03.2014 from Kolkata GPO. I was issued Form No. 16A by the Post Office showing the details of payment,tax deduction etc on the same day. Now I want to file my income tax return where " Unique TDS Certificate Number " is required to be furnished. I do not find this certificate no.in the Form No. 16A issued by the Post Office. And when I check my 26AS,all other details are there except the unique tds certificate number. I approached the Post Office for this certficate no. but they don't oblige. As I have to furnish this number for online submission of IT return, please let me know your views.

07 July 2014 Form 16A downloaded from tdscpc website is mandatory to be given to the deductees. Check whether tdscpc is written on your certificate if yes look at leftsidecorner of the certificate there you would find the certificate number.

07 July 2014 This is a cyclostyled Form No. 16A issued by the post office and not downloaded from tdscpc website. It is issued by Kolkata GPO and there is no certificate no.But other details are already uploaded in my 26AS.I feel frustrated.

07 July 2014 you must ask for form 16A else file a complaint with AO against post office that they are not providing you the valid form 16A

07 July 2014 you can collect from the post office and tell him for issue rom TRACE.

if you don't have form 16A with unique number then you can file the return.
