Treatment for salary payable

Can anybody please tell me what is the treatment for salary payable if it is outstanding more than 4 years? How to close the ledger?

Any unpaid salary and wages, which is outstanding more than 2 years in the books. It can be deposited in welfare fund. You can deposit the same amount in Welfare fund and close the salary payable ledger.
