Hi! Here’s some clarity on the **transition from PE-II to IPCC** and your situation:
---
### What is PE-II and IPCC?
* **PE-II (Professional Education - II)** was part of the old CA syllabus before the new Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) was introduced by ICAI. * The CA course was revamped, and **IPCC replaced PE-II** as the middle level exam. * Students who had started under the old syllabus (with PE-II) need to convert to IPCC to continue their CA journey.
---
### Why convert from PE-II to IPCC even after completing PE-II?
* **Completion of PE-II alone does not directly make you eligible for the CA Final exams** now because ICAI replaced the syllabus. * So, even if you passed PE-II earlier, to align with the new syllabus and be eligible to continue, you must **register for IPCC and get exemptions/paper-wise credits** based on your PE-II results. * IPCC is the official **intermediate level course now**, and you must be registered under it to proceed.
---
### What happens when you convert from PE-II to IPCC?
* You get **paper-wise exemption** for the subjects you already passed in PE-II. * Your **articleship training period under PE-II/PCC will be counted** towards IPCC requirements. * You’ll have to complete any additional requirements like:
* **Orientation program (35 hours)** * **Information Technology Training (ITT, 100 hours)** if not done earlier. * You become eligible to appear for **IPCC exams** (with exemptions). * After clearing IPCC, you can proceed to CA Final.
---
### Summary for you:
* Since you completed PE-II in 2007 but did not pursue further, **you should apply for conversion to IPCC**. * This is necessary because the ICAI syllabus has changed, and IPCC is now the recognized intermediate level. * Contact your regional ICAI office or look for the **conversion application form**. * Pay the applicable fees as per whether you completed ITT or not. * Complete orientation and ITT if pending. * After conversion, plan to appear for IPCC exams with your exemptions. * Then continue articleship if incomplete and eventually appear for CA Final.
