Transfer in case parents are shifting to another place

10 February 2014 Can I take transfer on a ground that my parents are shifting to another place which is not within the radius of 50km from my office? Is it important that my parent(s) need to be working in order to take transfer? Please tell me documents/proofs required in both the cases: 1. My parents are not working but shifting to another place where my brother resides 2. If one of my parent does business/job there (new). Thank You

11 February 2014 well the regulation is pretty clear that ground for termination of articleship is "transfer of parent(s)."

shifting is not transfer...you might be able to work around if your parent take up a job there...but still check with regional office before applying for transfer..

11 February 2014 Thanx for your answer but if its shifting of one or both of my parents as my brother is doing job there. Isn't that a reasonable ground for taking transfer?

11 February 2014 there is actually a point in rules that president may decide in other cases.. that's why I raised this query,
