Hello All,
I would like to know whether Disturbance allowance received against my transfer from one city to another city will be taxable on Not. I have received One Month basic salary against my transfer from my company.

There is no other reimbursement given by the company other than One month salary against my transfer.

Kindly clarify…?

04 February 2011 If this is City Compensatory allowance, it will be always taxable.

05 February 2011 Company pays the allowance as “Staff Transfer allowance”. And it’s been paid for the compassion for disturbance to the employee for his transfer from one City to another city.

05 February 2011 Even though its compensatory in nature, yet it is treated as an additional amount than salary. It will be taxable.
