Can a NRI open a trading account for trading in Commodity market and what shall be the conditions and approvals required for it?

No.
Any individual, Hindu undivided family (HUF), proprietary firm, partnership firm, or a company can open an account with Kotak Commodity.
Only resident Indians can open commodity trading account.NRIs, MFs, Banks and FIIs are not allowed to trade in commodity futures in India.
