The amount of salary disclosed in "income details/part bti"

I am getting error message in ITR 2 when I save the details : If the amount of salary disclosed in "Income details/Part BTI" is less than 90% of Salary reported in Schedule TDS1

I am observing that the Total Amount Paid / Credited value is being drawn from Form 26AS when I use the pre-fill option. This value seems to be on the higher side as it does not contain my HRA, Leave encashment, Conveyance amounts. Will it be OK for me to update the TDS1 section with the numbers obtained in Schedule S, item 7?

Ideally what should be the value of Total Amount Paid / Credited in Form 26AS. Is it gross salary paid by the company or the actual salary paid by the company after considering HRA, Investment proofs, Other allowances etc?

20 July 2015 Thank you. Can you also let me know what should the company report for Total Amount Paid / Credited in Form 26AS. Is it gross salary without deductions?

23 July 2015 Income tax department is silent on this issue. But wisdom suggests that it should give the figures of gross salary.
