12 December 2012 Is there any time limit i.e for how many years a director can be appointed as Wholetime director in a private limited company.
For example: Is it necessary to include in the resolution passed at general meeting that the director shall hold office for a period of .......years?

No, there is no time limit for a private limited company. Please check what your Articles of Association tell about tenure of WTD. If they are silent then you can appoint him for a period as you think fit.

The provision of section 269 relating to appointment of MD/WTD/Manager will not apply to private limited company.
