15 September 2012 I Have Online Paid Tds Of Rs 863.00 In 94J Section. But It Comes In The 94C Section.
I Have Selected Wrong Section While Online Tds Payment, So What Should I Do Now ?
I Should Pay Interest + Tds Amount B'caz Of Late Payment & Can I Get Previous Payment Of Wrong Section As Refundable Amount ?

15 September 2012 You have to write request letter to commissioner of TDS of your region. No other option available to you as per my knowledge.

15 September 2012 For Physical Challans- it can be rectified within 3 months through the concerned bank branch.
For rectifications in challans paid through online mode (internet challan) , taxpayer may contact their concerned Assessing Officer (AO) of the Income Tax Department (ITD).

15 September 2012 If any more pending bills pertaining to 194J can be adjusted with the payment do that or book bills of the current date in the prior date ( if possible)

15 September 2012 Write a letter to your TDS AO for correction in challan data along with the photocopy of the challan.

Sub: Request for Correction and/or rectification of Section in TDS challan.

Sir,

This is to inform you that we had deducted TDS of Rs 1000/- (One Thousand Only) u/s 194I pertaining to the month of Feb’2012 but at the time of online payment of the said amount the section was wrongly selected as 94J instead of 94I.

We, therefore, request you to kindly make the necessary correction in your records. We are also enclosing a photocopy of the said challan. We regret for our inadvertent mistake.
