### 1. **TDS on Salary: Monthly or Yearly?**

* **By law, TDS on salary should be deducted and deposited every month** — that is, tax deducted on salary paid in January must be deposited by 7th February, and so on.
* This is to ensure timely tax collection and to avoid interest and penalties.

### 2. **Can You Pay TDS Annually?**

* **Generally, there is no option to pay TDS on salary annually.**
* TDS deduction and deposit **must be done monthly** for salaries as per Section 192.
* If you delay depositing TDS, the Income Tax Department may charge **interest and penalties**.

### 3. **Filing Form 16**

* **Form 16 is the TDS certificate given to the employee**, showing the salary paid and TDS deducted during the financial year.
* Form 16 is prepared **after the end of the financial year** (by 15th June following the FY).
* It summarizes all monthly TDS deductions you made throughout the year.
