I had filled up Form 26QB correctly as under :-
TDS amount Rs. 6455 Interest for late deposit Rs. 775
However, while making the payment, through online netbanking, by mistake, I had filled the whole amount as TDS amount i.e. Rs. 7230 and no amount was filled as interest.
Now I think, by doing so, TDS certificate will be generated for Rs. 7230 and no amount will go to ITD on account of interest. Please inform the procedure to correct this mistake.
Alternatively, in order to meet out my obligation of making the payment of interest for late deposit, I am ready to pay Rs. 775 again. Please inform the procedure for doing the same.

It seems the query has not been understood properly. The tax has been deposited online through netbanking without going to any bank. The link provided says correction of mistake by concerned bank branch.
Please inform in case the mistake mentioned in my query can be rectified or any other action can be taken in that regard.

Got it — you made a payment mistake while depositing TDS and interest via online net banking:
* You should have paid TDS = ₹6,455 and interest = ₹775 separately, but instead paid the full ₹7,230 as TDS amount (no separate interest).
---
### What happens now?
* The system will generate the **TDS certificate (Form 16B) for ₹7,230**, treating the entire amount as TDS. * The interest portion of ₹775 will **not be credited separately** to your interest ledger. * The Income Tax Department (ITD) will show ₹7,230 as TDS deposited, but you will have **not paid interest separately** as required.
---
### How to correct this?
Unfortunately, **online net banking payment without bank branch involvement does not allow challan correction or rectification online by you**.
#### Options:
1. **Pay the interest amount of ₹775 again as a separate challan (using Challan 280, under "Interest")**
* You can make this payment online through the NSDL portal or offline through a bank branch. * This will update your interest ledger correctly.
2. **File a request with the bank branch or through your bank's net banking support**
* This may be complicated since the payment was made online without bank branch involvement. * Some banks may help in rectification or reallocation but it is not guaranteed.
3. **Keep documentary evidence**
* Maintain records of the excess ₹775 paid as TDS (which should have been interest). * You may need to explain this in case of scrutiny.
---
### What about the TDS certificate?
* Since the entire amount is treated as TDS, **the certificate will show ₹7,230**. * The interest amount is not creditable as TDS, but interest is a separate liability anyway.
---
### Suggested action
* Pay ₹775 separately as interest immediately. * Keep proof of both payments. * You can also consult the jurisdictional Assessing Officer if you want to regularize the mistake formally.

If you want, I can help you with the exact steps for paying interest online or preparing a letter to the Assessing Officer. Just ask!
