Tds on freight

10 January 2012 Dear sir/madam,

i have recd a purchase machine(fixed asset)bill i.e-456715 which is including 10000 freight amt.pls suggest can i deduct tds while i paying...pan no also obted in invoice....

12 January 2012 There is no need to deduct TDS from the payment of freight provided you have obtained the PAN number of the recipient. Although in your case PAN card is also not required to be obtained since the threshold limit of deduction is not reached.
