I have booked bill of rs 12800 as on 20 march 2009 for labour charges to contractor I didnt deduct any amount from first bill. & there after I booked anather bill of Rs. 12000 for same and I paid rs 24800 as on 8 apr 2009. So should I deduct tax from the contractors payment?

YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO DEDUCT TDS AS THE SINGLE BILL IS BELOW RS.20000/- AND ANNUAL PAYMENT IS BELOW RS.50000/-
