24 May 2011 One of my clients has lost PRN of TDS return. Now what should be done to issue form no. 16 A as PRN no. is to be shown in 16 A and client does not have PRN ?

25 May 2011 FIRST OF ALL...from FY 2010-11, PRN is not to be written on form 16, it has been replaced by 8 digit (ALPHABETRIC) receipt no.

25 May 2011 Now....if you know the date of TDS return filing, then go to the TIN-FC & tell them the date & your TAN..

They will be able to fish out your PRN. Through that PRN & TAN, you will be able to see the 8 digit (ALPHABETRIC) receipt no on
