TDS RETURN IS MANDATORY OR NOT

Quarterly / annual returns are mandatory as per rules 31A / 37 and 31A(1)(c)(ii) of the Income tax Rules,1962.

The filing of a NIL statement is not mandatory. If in a particular quarter no Tax is deducted filing Nil TDS statement is not necessary.
