While making payment TAN mentioned wrong in payment challan. How to rectify in order to get the credit of payment made?

CIT (TDS) can allow the credit to correct TAN, visit him with request for rectification with documents.

Actually, While making payment we have mentioned our Delhi unit TAN number instead of Mumbai TAN, now how to recticfy this, whether we need to get it rectified by filing letter at Mumbai Income tax office or at Delhi Income tax office. Please suggest
