one of my client has purchased auto cad and other software, my client is reqd to deduct tax as vendor has already charged service tax and vat.

TDS is not required to be deducted on purchase of software.

No TDS as its a simple sale / purchase transaction.

There is lot of ambiguity and confusion on the subject, my suggestion would be to deduct TDS on the whole amount u/s 194J(assuming the vendor is an Indian company).
