it should be calculated on value or on tax? please help.

SBC to be calculated @ 0.50% on the Taxable Value of Service and not on Service Tax amount. For details check out FAQ on SBC from link given below:

Tha value on which you will calculate the service tax shall be the value on which you will calculate the SBC
