Surrender of service tax registration certificate

18 March 2014 My uncle have taken service tax no. in January 2014. Now he wants to surrender it, as he is not providing any service. He is doing manufacturing business. He was never in service sector. He has not provided any service and not collected any service tax. Please help... What reason to give for surrender???

18 March 2014 U can provide the details which shows that no service is provided in the past financial years. I suggest it is better to surrender the RC, coz u hav to file a nil return every time, whether service provided or not.....

18 March 2014 U can show ur AOA or MOA showing nature of business (If u r a Company), Partnership Deed (If Firm) or Trade License in any other case. Simply saying any document showing service not provided.

First tell that y u took the RC When ST is not applicable to u from beginning??
