can any body tell me the effective professional tax slab rate for the financial year 2008-09.

Persons in employment whose annual salary or wage -
(i)
does not exceed Rs. 40,000 --Nil
(ii)
exceeds Rs. 40,000 but does not exceed Rs. 50,000
Rs. 360 (Rs. 30 per month)
(iii)
exceeds Rs. 50,000 but does not exceed Rs. 60,000
Rs. 720 (Rs. 60 per month)
(iv)
exceeds Rs. 60,000 but does not exceed Rs. 80,000
Rs. 1080 (Rs. 90 per month)

exceeds Rs. 80,000 but does not exceed Rs. 1,00,000
Rs. 1800 (Rs. 150 per month)
(vi)
exceeds Rs. 1,00,000 but does not exceed Rs. 1,50,000

above mention rate has been changed 3 year b4,
now i m talking about new slab rate that wr announced in finance budget of madhya pradsh.

yes my dear u are right,as per new budget slab rate started from 1,20,000.but it is sorry to inform you that the rates are yet to be notified.For notification you go www.mptax.net .For further clarification u are free to call me at 9425176510 between 10 am to 11 am any day.
