Showing donation u/s 35 in itr

30 June 2013 I donated an amount to an organization that offers 125% exemption from Income Tax of India under section 35, while filing my return where can I show this donation and exemption. I think the 80G section may not be suitable

30 June 2013 You have not mentioned the sub-section. However, it is possible to claim the deduction via Schedule BP. Have a look at Item No 29 of the said schedule.

You are rightly thinking about 80G. When higher deduction is available, Section of lower deduction will never suit.

30 June 2013 Thank you for your reply. I am a salaried employee I think I won't be able to claim the 125% exemption; the exemption will be restricted to 100% u/s 80gga for me, is this correct?

30 June 2013 First check from the receipt whether the said payment is eligible for deduction U/s 80GGA.

As per Section 80GGA (3) you may claim the deduction if other conditions are satisfied.
