Short recovery of service tax from customer

18 June 2012 If anyhow service tax is not collected/or collected in short from any customer, then will it be the liability of the provider to deposit service tax out of his pocket?

19 June 2012 Yes, however you can raise a supplementary invoice and recover the differential tax.

Service tax is now payable on accounting (accrual) basis.
