Shadow Balance in bank accounts is the balance is not yet have been verified/authorized/approved. It is the unclear balance.
Say my bank balance is Rs 20000/- and i deposit a cheque of Rs 5000/-.
Here shadow balance will be Rs 5000/- till the cheque get approved.
