Kindly guide what is procedure of filing e returns of service tax. Whether we can file just by creating login id in aces site or we need any approval of Supritedent for filing of same. Also what is TPIN from Deptt and why we need it. Pl explain. Thanks.

09 October 2011 Pl follow the e-filing procedure given below in seriatim.
Logon in www.aces.gov.in and Click 'Service Tax' Link on top menu bar.

If you are registered with ACES, use your user name and password to logon.

Select your return from RET menu and submit self-assessed return online.

If not registered with ACES, furnish e-mail ID of the authorized person to your Range officer and an e-mail with T-PIN (Temporary User ID) and Password will be sent to enable you to register with ACES.

If you do not receive e-mail, please check spam mail folder or contact Range Officer.

Thereafter, you can logon and file return as explained above.

You can also use "Offline Returns" available under RET menu or under 'Download' link of ACES website; fill it and upload to ACES.

For registration with ACES can be done at our end online or it is through range officer.
Pl explain as i am confused regarding this.
