11 June 2012 Dear Sir,

I have appointed one Transporter for the Transportation of Sand / Concrete from one site to another 1 km away from the original Site. The Transporter have Charged me Rs. 740/- per Consignment.

Query :
1) Whether it Attracts Service Tax on GTA?
2)If Yes, Tell me Which records to be maintained for Transportation from one site to other site. We have done approx 100s of such Round.
3)Tell me the way How shall we claim the exemption. which needs to be produced to the department for claiming the exemption??

11 June 2012 Let us know whether transporter is issuing you consiignment note for every trip or he is raisinng monthly bill under a contract where charge per trip is 740/-
