Whether service tax registration and liability to pay service tax is applicable for the service provider who is home loan agent attaining commission from the agency for whom the service provider works such as Tata Housing Finance Limited, Deewan Housing Finance Limted etc. Please provide reference of rule or section wherever defined.Please reply fast.

04 July 2014 I you are a DSA Direct Selling Agent of the amount mentioned Loan institutions that you re bound to register under service tax under the service category of Business Auxilliary Service.
Please refer Section 65(105)(zzb) of Finance Act.

If the amount of commission received by you is less than 9,00,000 then no need to register under servicetax.

04 July 2014 What if the service provider is a HOME LOAN AGENT working with LIC Housing Finance Limited and not engaged in any insurance services with LIC

04 July 2014 If you are working on commission basis ,then you need to pay service tax.
