Service tax

This query is : Resolved

09 July 2014 hi everyone. my dad is a businessman. he is dealing with some companies.my dad is paying service tax to those companies and he is also paying the service tax to the government. so he got a doubt that the money which he is paying to those companies can be deducted from the money he is paying to the government and can he pay the remaining money to the government.??????

09 July 2014 If your dad is a service provider or a manufacturer and the servicetax he has paid to companies relates to input service or inputs then he can utilize the credit of service tax so paid.

But if he is a service reciever required to pay service tax under reverse charge then he cannot utilie the input tax credit.
