04 January 2015 You cant decide salary in the basis of turnover..It's purely on your knowledge level, skills talents you have

04 January 2015 Thanks Ankit, I also agree with you. My question is why the interviewer would ask such questions in interview, of course they are also highly professional ones. In short what would be there intention to ask such question?.

04 January 2015 They just want to check what value you expected of your talents, r u money minded, etc etc

04 January 2015 Hello Ankit, I think everybody who is working as a professional is a money minded and who is a doing a service or job has to look only after monthly service. Now tell me if you are working as a professional or as an accountant post how would you make a growth of your company, means how would yourself enhance to the growth of a company.

22 July 2025 That’s a classic interview curveball! Interviewers asking about the company’s turnover when you’re applying for an accountant role can be tricky — but it usually isn’t just about the number itself.

Here’s what they might be trying to gauge:

Awareness & Context:
They want to see if you understand the scale of the business you’re dealing with. A turnover of ₹16 crores vs. ₹1 crore means very different complexities in accounting, compliance, reporting, and controls.

Expectations & Fit:
They may be checking whether your salary expectations match the company’s scale and budget. A bigger turnover company might offer a higher salary.

Value & Contribution:
It’s also about your mindset — are you aware of how the size of the company might affect your role? Would you bring processes and controls appropriate for a ₹16 crore turnover company?

Business Acumen:
They could be seeing if you think beyond just bookkeeping — like how your work impacts business growth, cash flow, compliance risks, etc.

So while salary isn’t directly tied to turnover, the question is more about your understanding of business size and your role within it.
