28 November 2012 The liability of the service provider and service recipient is different and independent of each other.

The benefit of Rs. 10 lakhs is available only to the service provider.

It is NOT available to the service recipient.

Accordingly, the service recipient will have to pay service tax even if the turnover of the service provider does not exceed Rs. 10 lakhs.
