Sir/mam,
what is the effective last date for return filing of an individual who is sub. to tax audit. whether that individual can file the return now that is in the month of feb- march 2012 by paying the income tax challan along with interest.

Return can be filed upto 31.03.2012 without penalty.
Return can be filed upto 31.3.2013, but penalty of Rs. 5,000/- may be levied on the assessee.
